Digital Mammograms

The key to an easy and successful breast cancer treatment is early detection through a screening mammogram. To make it as painless and easy on you as possible, our skilled and compassionate staff will perform your mammogram with gentleness and care. When it's time for your mammography, choose Florida Hospital to receive quality and gentle treatment sensitive to your needs.

Digital mammography is offered through Florida Hospital outpatient imaging centers and Florida Radiology Imaging (FRi) centers. This new technology allows better detection of breast cancer.

4D Ultrasound

Do you recall the first time you were pregnant and saw your developing baby on the ultrasound screen? As you were overwhelmed with feelings of love, joy and amazement did you struggle to figure out what you were looking at?

You can see moving pictures of your unborn baby with the 4D Ultrasound at five convenient Florida Hospital locations and outpatient imaging centers. 4D Ultrasound provides the fourth dimension - moving images in 3D - enhancing the ultrasound experience by providing surface rendered images of your baby. This unprecedented image technique coupled with 2D imaging allows physicians to monitor your baby's development like never before. 4D Ultrasound also enhances the bonding experience for you and your family as you actually see your unborn baby for the first time.

4D Facts

• Insurance will cover the cost of the ultrasound if the patient's insurance will pay for an ultrasound at Florida Hospital.
• A prescription for an OB ultrasound is necessary for the exam.
• There is no difference in cost between traditional and 4D ultrasound. 4D is performed at the end of a complete OB scan.
• 4D facial features are best viewed between 24 and 34 weeks of pregnancy.
• The quality of the pictures is dependent upon the size of the patient, position of the baby and amount of amniotic fluid.
• Parent will receive a picture and CD with images. We recommend bringing a VHS tape for a video.
• Parent may bring one guest for 2D portion of scan, and additional guests for 4D portion (performed after 2D scan).

DXA (DEXA) Scan

DXA (DEXA) Scan measures the density of your bones and predicts fracture risks. Recommended by The National Osteoporosis Foundation, the procedure is painless, quick, inexpensive and involves low radiation exposure.

Thyroid Screening

A thyroid test helps determine an underactive (the most common thyroid problem) or overactive thyroid. As a woman, you are seven times more likely than a man to be affected by an underactive thyroid. Thyroid screening is painless, cost-effective and can save you from more costly and debilitating conditions in the future.
